Space Information

유영공간은 성북동에 약 7-80여년 전 거주목적으로 지어진 전통한옥입니다.

오랜시간 다양한 거주자들을 만나 조금씩 개축되고, 보수되어 다양한 서까래와 나무들을 간직하고 있던 집으로 2021년 유영공간이 들어와 전시공간으로 사용하며 머물고 있습니다.

문이 없는 벽을 만들어 공간을 크게 2구역으로 전시실 1과 2로 분리하여 사용중이며, 한옥의 구조는 출입문 기준 안쪽의 전시실 2 공간에 존재합니다.
오래된 집이기에 여러 보수들을 하고 사용중이지만 한옥 골조 자체에 설치등은 공간자체에 부담을 주고 있어 해당 구역 천장 한옥 골조의 못, 드릴등의 설치는 제한됩니다.

유영공간은 한국의 일반 가정 집 처럼 신발을 벗고 들어와야 전시실로 입장하여 관람할 수 있게 운영되고 있습니다.
바닥엔 내구성이 강한 검정색의 카페트가 깔려있습니다.
다만 카페트는 열과 오염에 취약함으로 영향이 있는 설치등은 논의 후 진행되고 있습니다.

This traditional hanok, built approximately 70 to 80 years ago in Seongbuk-dong for residential purposes, has undergone minor renovations and repairs by various residents over the years. These updates have helped preserve a variety of rafters and wooden structures. Since 2021, Space Uooyoung has been utilizing the hanok as an exhibition space.

A wall without a door has been added to divide the space into two main sections: Exhibition Room 1 and Exhibition Room 2. The hanok's structural elements are primarily located in Exhibition Room 2, which is situated further inside from the entrance.

As it is an old house, various repairs have been made for usability. However, installations that place a burden on the hanok’s wooden framework, such as nails or drills in the ceiling structure, are restricted.

Space Uooyoung operates similarly to a traditional Korean home, where visitors are required to remove their shoes before entering the exhibition area. The floor is covered with a durable black carpet, which, however, is susceptible to heat and stains. Therefore, any installation that may affect the carpet must be discussed in advance.
